Parade Entertainment

“Let us Entertain you…”

It just wouldn’t be Battle without the sights and sounds of our performers entertaining you in the arena and taking part in the parades. This year’s highlights will include:

Band of the Island of Jersey

Originally formed in 1876, the band was renamed to its present title after the Second World War. The Band differs from the tradition of Brass Bands in that they have a Corps of Drums, members of which, over the years have received training by HM Royal Marines, a relationship which has been nurtured by the Band executive for many years.

The Dolphin Marching Band

Formed in 1997 by the present bandmaster, the Band has been coming to Jersey for 26 years and is a firm favourite amongst Battle audiences. The band welcomes members from the age of 8-years upwards, even those without any musical experience as they are taught by memory. Welcome back in our anniversary year.

Bloco Fogo Samba Band

Meaning ‘Band of Fire’ the group, which was formed in Kent in 2001 has since grown and developed both musically and in size, boasting over 60 members. Combining amazing rhythms and infectious energy to create a fiery show of colour, sound and movement.

Run for Cover

This Irish/American Folk/Rock band have been performing together since the early 1990s and have made many appearances at the Battle parades over the years – the band will happily take requests from the audience as they travel along the parade.

Ruby Rouge

Making their first appearance at Battle, Ruby Rouge is a post-modern jazz band providing smooth jazzy sounds with a post-modern feel.

The Jersey Rockets Cheerleader Squad

The squad has performed regularly at Battle over the years as well as other charity events across the Island. Guaranteed to bolster the crowd, make noise and definitely entertain.

Star Wars Jersey

Set up in 2013, our aim is to have fun bring the Star Wars universe to life whilst raising money and awareness for local children’s charities. We’ll be looking out for Lightsabers  during the Moonlight Parade – see you in the arena! And remember, May the Force Be With You!
